Fancy joining the Parish Council? Elections are being held on 1st May 2025

Welcome to the Library!
Wootton Community Library re-opened in July 2021 after a full refurbishment of the Community Centre managed by the Parish Council.
We are a Community Managed Library, which means we are included in the Northamptonshire Library Service, who supply all our stock, but we are mostly free to run the library in our own way. We are supported by Wootton Parish Council, we have a library manager, and we are staffed by a wonderful team of volunteers who give up a few hours each week to keep the library running.
If you would like to get involved and join our little library family we would love to meet you! email Jussy at [email protected] for more information.
* Please note that our regular volunteers are required to be aged 18 or over, however if you are looking for volunteer hours for your Duke of Edinburgh Award, we can sometimes offer time on an ad hoc basis during the school holidays.*
Regular Events
There is always a warm welcome for you in the library, and always something to do!
You can find a calendar of all our events here. With bank holidays, sometimes the regularity of groups can be disturbed, so keep an eye on the calendar for any changes.
All our events are FREE and there is no need to book unless otherwise stated.
Colouring is available every day!
Please note that children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
We have a regular Storytime every Tuesday at 11.15am. This is aimed at small children and their carers and is a gentle way to spend half an hour together.
For anyone creative, you can join us for a Crafternoon every other Monday from 1pm where you can bring along a project to work on with friends. We also plan to have some experts come along to teach us some new skills. Check the what’s on page for dates.
We also run a popular Knit and Natter group on alternate Wednesdays at 11am which anyone is welcome to attend. Our members make all sorts of beautiful items not just for themselves, but also for charity and to sell at our Community Centre fairs where the proceeds are kindly donated to library funds.
Wootton Library Book Club meets on alternate Wednesdays at 11am. This is a vibrant and thriving group which welcomes new members. We read a book together each month and enjoy talking about all things literature.
Kids’ Book Club is held monthly at 11am on a Saturday. All primary aged children are welcome to attend! We talk about books relating to a shared topic rather than a particular book – for example, books with magic in them, or books about an animal – and we have fun activities together too!
Lego Construction Club is a monthly session for children and their parents. We have lots of Lego so the children can let their imaginations run wild! Saturdays once a month from 10.30 – 12 noon.
Rhymetime is a popular song and action session for under 5s.
You can join us for Rhymetime every Friday at 11am.

For Sale!
We have a great selection of pre-loved books to purchase at the bargain price of 50p each. We even have some books that you can have for free!
